Enthusiastic Revolutionaries

We love this story from the latest issue of Wine Enthusiast. Written by Lauren Buzzeo, photographed by Maree Louw (on Kalmoesfontein) and styled by Cornelia Badenhorst, the article is a beautiful feature of the original revolutionaries – Eben Sadie ‘The Virtuoso’, Callie Louw ‘The Farmer’, Chris and Andrea Mullineux ‘The Dynamic Duo’ and Adi ‘The Personality’.

fresh from the farm

Always something new and exciting up his sleeve – Adi and Kyle are now working on a new little project to keep them busy during the winter months.

Without saying too much and letting the cat out of the bag, just think herbal and fruit chenin based infusions, craft tonic and MORE BEER!

I even heard rumours of a budget to build a brewery.

shot on the farm

Jack Parow and Valient Swart’s new song Tema van jou lied was released recently. They visited Kalmoesfontein in January to shoot some of the scenes for the video on the farm.

Can you spot views of the Swartland, Adi’s taxidermy collection and scenes on the Jakkalsfontein road? This is a beautiful production!

The end is near…

As the end of the 2014 harvest starts to come into our sights, here are some pictures from the last few weeks.

The Revolution was photographed

Maree once again took some stunning pictures at the Swartland Revolution this year. Here are a few of our favourites, lots more on her blog.

There is a nice summery of the weekend on The Swartland Revolution’s site. Have a look.

Meanwhile, our Family Red 2009 is number 93 on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 wines for 2013. Not too shabby…

Pictures from Adi’s travels and random things on the farm (walking the fine line of becoming one of those blogs full of kids…) as well as some nice media attention received.

This is an update kind of blog, hello, here we are…

And Adi and Jasper have breakfast braais as the sun rises.

It is almost November, Swartland Revolution time, and even Time Magazine is getting in on the action.

We hope to see many of  you at the Swartland Independent Street Party on November 9th, it really is the place to be…
