A tribute, by AA Badenhorst Family Wines, to the long and proud South African tradition of fortified wines . Inspired by great wines that were once found on the dinner tables of every South African household.
Made in the Swartland from grapes grown by us, aged in Saldanha Bay and Kalmoesfontein Farm. Once off, small-batch bottlings and special editions only.

Oyster Wine & Sherry Beach Bar
Join us at our sherry cellar in Saldanha – an old Shell garage that we’ve converted into a seaside paradise. Sometimes, when it feels right, we open our doors and celebrate in true West Coast style, with glasses full of wine, oysters fresh from the bay and mussels cooked over the coals. Enjoy a lunch time or pre-dinner snack or after dinner sundowner from the Sea Shell shed or on our sheltered beach.
Our beach bar is a pop up and only open on certain dates. Booking is essential.
Hire the Venue
Celebrate in a sheltered corner of the West Coast.
A rustic, retro-inspired venue with a private beach, made for unhurried celebrations. Situated between Hoedjiesbaai and the Saldanha Bay Hotels, Saldanha Wine & Spirit Company occupies a rare, sheltered stretch of coastline with easy on-street parking and plenty of West Coast charm.
The venue unfolds over multiple levels, offering flexibility and flow for celebrations of up to 200 guests.

About our Spirits
From Spain to Saldanha, traditionally Sherry is made in Spain, we call it Fortified wine... but we use the same styles & grapes.
In order to be labelled as a sherry (Jerez in Spanish), a wine must come from 1 of 3 towns: Jerez de la Frontera, El Puerto de Santa María or Sanlúcar de Barrameda. That is why we call ours fortified wines - much like Champagne or Sparkling Wine.
